RTR Construction is seeking a Jr. Residential Construction Estimator with strong technical construction knowledge to join our Team. In this critical role, you’ll be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential and light commercial construction projects. • Review project drawings, plans, and specifications to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates.
• Analyze labor, materials, and time requirements for proposed projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather and verify pricing data.
• Prepare bid proposals, project budgets, and cost breakdowns for both residential and commercial construction.
• Track project expenses and compare actual costs to estimates, making adjustments as needed.
• Build and maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships to secure competitive pricing.
• Stay current with trends in construction materials, pricing, and regulatory requirements.

• Must have 2+ years of experience as a field construction estimator, preferably in new construction.
• Proficiency in estimating software (Xactimate/Job Tread preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent math, organization, and analytical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be tech savvy and computer literate.

• Associate’s degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience estimating both residential and light commercial projects.
• Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes.
