The Lead Teacher prepares scholars for the college of their choice and community leadership by delivering instruction and managing the classroom to maximize academic engagement and outcomes. The Lead Teacher is primarily scholar-facing, oversees the Associate Teacher, and reports directly to the grade band director.
Job Goals- Design and implement rigorous lessons focused on mastery-driven student achievement.
- Create a high-expectation classroom climate that rewards perseverance and encourages exploration.
- Communicate and build strong family partnerships through calls, conferences, and home visits.
- Use current student data to drive instruction, planning, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with all Emerald team members to support high-level student success.
- Develop processes for student self-assessment and self-monitoring.
- Document, analyze, and summarize student progress to communicate with stakeholders.
- Utilize technology to maintain student data and enhance learning.
- Hold a Tennessee Teacher License with necessary endorsements.
- Have an active TDOE Teaching License or completed the TDOE Application process for out-of-state license transfer prior to application.
- Meet highly qualified status for taught area(s). Teaching experience preferred but not required.
