Childhelp is a national nonprofit dedicated to preventing and treating child abuse and neglect. Our Speak Up Be Safe program teaches children and teens how to recognize and respond to abuse. We’re looking for a trainer and community connector to bring it to schools, youth organizations, and families.
What You’ll DoTeach. Lead engaging Speak Up Be Safe classes using role-plays, Q&A, and one-on-one sessions, and create a safe, supportive learning a safe adult. Be ready to support any child or teen who chooses to disclose abuse, and connect them with resources.
Build partnerships. Reach out to schools, youth-serving organizations, and community groups, and promote Speak Up Be Safe as an effective prevention program.
Plan and market. Develop an outreach plan with clear strategies, timelines, and goals, and present short information sessions to attract new partners.
Improve and report. Use participant feedback to strengthen your classes, and track results in our learning management system.
Grow as a trainer. Complete our Training for Trainers workshop and keep your credentials current, with ongoing coaching and development.
What You'll BringA bachelor’s degree, or 1-3 years of related experience (or an equivalent mix of education and experience)
At least one year of experience delivering trainings or presentations, or at least one year in marketing or sales
Comfort presenting to a variety of audiences, including children and teens
Strong relationship-building and communication skills, and the ability to work independently
Willingness to travel locally for classes and outreach, and to use a personal vehicle when needed
