GEI’s Marquette, Michigan office is seeking a motivated, staff-level structural engineer to assist with complex projects across the Midwest and nationwide. This role offers a valuable opportunity for a new engineer to learn from senior experts and gain experience in various structural and geo-structural projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting engineering efforts on projects such as building design, facade evaluation, testing, excavation support, dams, foundations, levees, flood walls, bridges, tunnels, and ground treatments.
- Performing analyses and design calculations using geotechnical and structural software.
- Assisting with field explorations, documenting activities, and preparing technical reports.
Minimum qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 5-10 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Ability to obtain professional registration.
- Coursework in steel and concrete design, soil mechanics, and foundations.
- Proficiency with analysis software (ENERCALC, Mathcad, SAP
2000, STAAD, RISA) and drafting tools (Revit, Civil3D, Microstation). - Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to work in the field and travel as needed.
