Engineering Associate – Power Delivery Substation

Salary: $55,000-$90,000
Mesa is seeking an Engineering Associate to work as part of a collaborative design team in the areas of Protection & Control (P&C), Transmission Planning and Grounding Analysis. The selected individual will be heavily engaged in engineering analysis and design in the nation’s fastest developing power substation arena. This opportunity is ideal for a junior‑level engineer seeking technical growth, daily collaboration with subject‑matter experts, and sophisticated engineering methods.
Exposure to a wide range of power delivery design experience will be available, including both Greenfield and Brownfield design with voltages from distribution level up to 500 kV.
Responsibilities- Develop subject matter expertise in P&C Substation design, grounding analysis, and Transmission ratings.
- Collaborate with Standards Innovation and Design Teams to provide high‑quality design basis for reliable future power grid growth.
- Gain expertise and assist others in the field of Power Delivery Substation.
- Ability to utilize CAD software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑Accredited) or Mechanical Engineering with Mechatronics Focus (ABET‑Accredited).
- Self‑motivated to work as an individual contributor.
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Customer support acumen and strong communication skills for frequent client interaction.
- Travel up to 10% of time.
- 2 to 6 years of applicable experience.
- Passed FE Exam.
- Experience in Power Substation design.
- Engineering studies including Power Systems coursework.
- Keen interest in learning and using the latest software tools, methods, and technologies to develop Power Substation design.
