Mesa is seeking an ABET‑degreed Electrical Engineer with keen interest in developing expertise in Substation Protection and Control (P&C) and Power Substation–based Engineering Studies. The selected individual will be heavily engaged in engineering design in the nation’s fastest developing power substation arena. This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who seeks an environment that provides technical growth, daily collaboration with subject‑matter experts, and sophisticated design methods for voltages ranging from distribution level up to 500 kV.
This role is a hybrid (home and office) arrangement located in Knoxville, TN.

Responsibilities- Development of substation‑related studies and calculations designs.
- Utilization of modeling software to develop equipment safety and personnel safety‑based substation designs.
- Collaborate with Standards Innovation and Design Teams regarding Facility Ratings parameters.
- Gain expertise and assist others in the field of Power Delivery Substation.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Ability and interest in utilizing engineering‑based software for power substation planning and design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Customer support acumen.
- Three (3) to eight (8) years of applicable experience.
- Passed FE (EIT) Examination.
- Keen interest in learning and using the latest software tools, methods, and technologies to develop power substation design.
