Mesa is seeking an Engineering Associate to work as part of a collaborative design team in the areas of Protection & Control (P&C), Transmission Planning and Grounding Analysis. The selected individual will be heavily engaged in engineering analysis and design in our nation’s fastest developing power substation arena. This opportunity is ideal for the junior-level engineer seeking an environment which will provide technical growth, daily collaboration with subject matter expertise, and sophisticated methods utilized in engineering analysis and design.
Exposure to a wide range of power delivery design experience will be available in this role including both Greenfield and Brownfield design with voltages ranging from Distribution level up to and including 500kV. - Development of subject matter expertise in P&C Substation design, grounding analysis and Transmission ratings.
- Collaborate with Standards Innovation and Design Teams to provide high quality design basis for reliable future power grid growth.
- Gain expertise and assist others in the field of Power Delivery Substation.
- Ability to utilize CAD software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited), or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Mechatronics Focus (ABET Accredited)
- Self-motivated to work as an individual contributor
- Ability to work as a member of a multidiscipline team
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication
- Customer Support acumen, with strong communication skills for frequent client interaction
- Travel up to 10% of time
- Two (2) to six (6) years of applicable experience
- Passed FE Exam
- Experience in Power Substation design
- Engineering Studies including Power Systems coursework
- Keen interest in learning and using the latest software tools, methods, and technologies to develop Power Substation design
