Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Regional Project Manager to lead and manage water resources infrastructure projects throughout the U.S., with a primary focus on reservoirs, dams, levees, canals, and impoundments. Based in Knoxville, TN, the successful candidate will play a critical role in planning, executing, and delivering multi-disciplinary projects on time, within scope, and on budget while ensuring regulatory compliance and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of water resource projects including planning, design, permitting, construction, and closeout.

  • Lead project teams consisting of engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, and construction professionals.

  • Oversee project budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.

  • Ensure all projects comply with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations (e.g., USACE, FEMA, TDEC).

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and project updates for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with local, regional, and federal agencies on permitting and compliance activities.

  • Mentor and support junior project staff and promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required; eligibility for licensure in Tennessee within 6 months preferred.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing civil infrastructure projects related to water resources.

  • Proven experience with projects involving dams, levees, reservoirs, canals, and impoundments.

  • Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, geotechnical assessments, and construction management.

  • Familiarity with relevant codes and guidelines (FEMA, USACE, NRCS, FERC, etc.).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Willingness to travel within the region as project demands dictate.

Preferred Skills:
  • PMP Certification or formal project management training.

  • Experience with design-build or CMAR project delivery methods.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D).

  • Knowledge of sustainable water management practices and resiliency planning.
