Project Overview: Bechtel is partnering with Terra Power on the Natrium project, an advanced sodium fast reactor (SFR) that will produce more than 500 MWe of power with an innovative molten‑salt energy storage system. The project is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program.
Job Summary: Perform pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 or B31.3 Code. The role is part‑time telework with at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.
Please note: This position is for candidates with less than 9 years of relevant experience. If you have more than 9 years of experience, please apply to a “Senior” position.
Major Responsibilities:
- Model piping systems using Bentley Auto Pipe to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
- Conduct stress review of isometrics based on span tables.
- Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost‑effective design.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 3-4 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and
Skills:
- Must complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.
- Basic understanding of ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1 and other relevant industry piping codes and standards.
- Prior experience using a computer pipe stress analysis program (Auto Pipe preferred).
