Mesa seeks an experienced (8 to 14 years) BSEE or BSME for Power Substation Physical Design. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the field of Power Substation Engineering Design within the US power industry. A BSEE or BSME from an ABET‑accredited university is required. The position is in‑office (hybrid) in a collaborative team environment, providing engineering design support for physical design of Power Substations ranging from 34.5 kV to 500 kV.
As a Senior Engineer, you will be skilled in all aspects of Physical Substation design and able to evaluate project packages for adherence to standards and constructability. Familiarity with Bentley Micro Station and/or Autodesk Inventor is a plus. Effective communication with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels is required. Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer is not required but would be considered a plus.
/ Experience
- BSEE or BSME from an ABET‑accredited university (required)
- 8–14 years of experience working in the power utility industry
- Perform Physical Substation design with a high degree of accuracy (quality)
- Work well as a team member as well as individually
- Use Micro Station to create assigned deliverables
- Interact with the customer and meet their schedule and budgeting requirements
- Mentor junior engineers/designers
- Review work of other team members
- Perform work safely
This opportunity is for a hybrid work environment (home and office) and requires residing in the Knoxville, TN area.
