Overview
The College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks a reliable, pleasant, energetic interventionist with an impeccable work ethic to assist with study-related activities (i.e., intervention delivery) under the supervision of the study project coordinator and principal investigator. The part-time position may require travel to deliver the intervention.
ResponsibilitiesWith oversight and training from the PI, this position will deliver the Fam Lit intervention and attention-control interventions. Assigned to deliver the Fam Lit intervention to patients and care partners in the initial in-person session and phone booster sessions, providing clear communication and education to support their understanding and engagement. This is not a one-time activity but is delivered over multiple sessions, and involves providing health-related information, where the ability to understand and effectively communicate such content is important.
The study staff will receive extensive training (and re-training) in delivering Fam Lit intervention/attention-only before implementing the study and communicate with the PI on a weekly basis regarding any issues encountered during the intervention sessions.
This position will also learn the basics of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and standard operating procedures (SOP); collaborate and consult with other health professionals in study participation and to ensure protocol compliance; and other duties as assigned. This person will communicate with the principal investigator and project coordinator regarding any issues encountered during intervention delivery (and other assigned study activities, if needed).
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare in practices such as cardiovascular care, especially heart failure patient care
- High school diploma
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must be able to work well and collaborate with others who hold a wide variety of positions.
- Ability to work autonomously, problem solve and use critical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience providing care or services to patients, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- RN license

Pay Range$19 - $25/hour
Hours/week~20 hours/week, depending on participants’ schedule
