THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe Medical Technical Assistant 1 provides nursing support to Internal Medicine residents and attending physicians. This position helps ensure correct aseptic/sterile procedures are followed and performs invasive procedures as defined by nursing statutes.
ResponsibilitiesEDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (

EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months of work experience in a medical office. (Experience as a nurse assistant desired. Knowledge of medical billing preferred. Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred.)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or CCMA in the state of Tennessee required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate both on telephone and in person.
- Knowledge of different insurance companies and the ability to maintain constant contact with the patient's primary insurance carrier.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical vocabulary.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time.
- Ability to coordinate care for patients, within and outside providers.
