Job Description OverviewThe Sr. Clinical Recruiter serves as a role model and provides guidance to recruitment staff. The primary focus involves working closely with physician candidates, coordinating applicant interviews, negotiating and closing deals, and initiating the hire process. The recruiter is the main point of contact for the leadership team responsible for the facilities in the assigned region and manages reporting and updates related to recruiting.
The recruiter creates and executes effective recruiting plans to manage the recruitment needs for all assigned hospital facilities.
- Generate and develop leads through advertisements, cold calling, referrals, mass mailings, Internet sources, receptions, and conventions.
- Initiate contact and timely follow-up with prospective physician candidates, document actions in Team Works, and develop comprehensive recruiting plans for specific vacancies.
- Coordinate interviews, screen and refer qualified physician applicants meeting hospital and state licensing requirements; attend interviews as necessary; evaluate candidate fit and coordinate interview follow-up on a timely basis.
- Discuss risk management process with new hires during contracting phase, obtain clarification from new providers on questionnaire and risk management referral form, collaborate with support staff to ensure positive reference review process, identify appropriate references for written reference checks, and ensure candidates comply with all necessary credentials and documents prior to any clinical assignments.
- Maintain integrity of the physician database in Team Works, use the system to obtain reports, searches and listings, adhere to Team Health protocols regarding required information and documentation, and ensure accurate source information capture.
- Prepare recruiting presentations for regional meetings and workshops.
- Oversee training of new recruiters and conduct preliminary evaluations and provide feedback to the appropriate Directors.
- Participate in start-up protocol for new contracts and research reference books, Internet, and surrounding hospitals to track down possible physician recruits.
- Maintain facility profile with current demographics, credential requirements and salary information for each region.
- Establish ongoing relationships with residency programs in conjunction with Residency Relations.
- Prepare and attend regional receptions and convention exhibits.
- Prepare monthly recruitment activity reports and bi‑monthly reports to facility Medical Directors, Senior Vice President and Regional Medical Director.
- Maintain annual analysis including source analysis, advertising, mass mailings, exit interviews and new hire/medical director surveys.
- Maintain regular contact with new hires until effective start date for retention purposes, including initial satisfaction surveys.
- Assist in training new staff members as requested.
- Conduct salary surveys, canvass new market areas to determine appropriate compensation for contract bids and proposals.
- Conduct facility site visits as appropriate.
- College degree, preferably in marketing, public relations or a business‑related field.
- Ability to work as a member of a Team Health team with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- High degree of judgment and independent decision‑making with regard to applicant credentials and the subsequent referral of the appropriate Medical Director.
- High degree of initiative, creativity and willingness to accept responsibility.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong organization and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with physicians, colleagues and administrative personnel.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
