Purpose:

We are seeking a motivated Pre‑Litigation Attorney (Personal Injury) with a strong background in personal injury law, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for helping clients navigate claims. The pre‑litigation attorney will manage a high‑volume caseload from intake to settlement, communicating with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters; evaluating liability and damages; and negotiating settlements that maximize recovery.

This is an in‑person position based at our Chattanooga, Tennessee office. Compensation ranges from an annual base salary of $75,000 to $85,000, plus bonuses and benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of personal injury claims during the pre‑litigation phase.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and guidance.
  • Review police reports, medical records, and other documentation to evaluate case value.
  • Draft demand letters and other legal correspondence.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies to ensure fair compensation.
  • Coordinate with medical providers regarding client treatment and billing.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and documentation in the case management system.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure cases move efficiently.
  • Prepare cases for litigation if a settlement is not achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal standards.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee and in good standing with the Tennessee Bar.
  • One to three years of experience in personal injury law (pre‑litigation focus preferred).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
  • Compassionate and client‑focused attitude.
  • Ability to manage a high‑volume caseload independently.
  • Proficiency with case‑management software (e.g., Filevine, Needles, Litify) is a plus.
