JOB DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES

The Legal Assistant primarily works under the direction of RTG’s legal counsel and will be tasked with assisting RTG’s legal counsel with drafting and revising various types of contracts the firm or its affiliates enter into, managing the firm’s insurance and real estate licensure programs, and providing any other type of assistance to RTG as it relates to legal issues and risk.

The legal assistant will report directly to RTG’s corporate counsel and indirectly to RTG’s general counsel. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage the firm’s legal inbox and contract database in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Process legal requests and manage contracts through the entire contract lifecycle.
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and administering various types of contracts RTG regularly enters into in the course and scope of business.
  • Assist with formatting and proofreading various legal documents and other client deliverables.
  • Format, produce, compile, edit, and proofread documents to ensure that they meet RTG’s brand standards and guidelines. Documents will include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents in various formats, including agreements, engagement letters, reports, presentations, proposals, and other types of documents as assigned.
  • Thoroughly proofread completed work for spelling, grammar, punctuation and format.
  • Contribute to the legal team’s successful completion of projects by ensuring highest quality work product is fulfilled prior to applicable deadlines.
  • Help manage RTG’s real estate licensing program by assisting the firm and its personnel with registering and complying with various states’ statutes and rules.
  • Help manage RTG’s corporate insurance program by providing assistance on insurance audits, insurance renewals, COI procurement, etc.
  • Help file RTG’s annual reports, business license applications, and other similar types of documents and filings in various jurisdictions.
  • Help update and format the Employee Handbook on a regular basis and assist with policy administration.
  • Provide any other type of assistance to RTG as it relates to legal issues and risks.
  • Perform other assigned work for the firm’s service lines or for the firm in general as directed by management.
