3rd Shift Grinder Operator

Location:

Knoxville, TN

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 12:00 AM–6:30 AM (30 hours per week, full-time pay & benefits)

• Operate and monitor two FANUC profile grinders and one Siemens OD grinder with precision and consistency
• Set up machines, adjust tooling, and interpret blueprints to meet exact engineering specifications
• Perform in-process quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools
• Maintain all required tolerances and surface finishes according to engineering drawings
• Conduct routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance
• Accurately document production data, deviations, and completed work in the shop system
• Recommend opportunities to enhance safety, efficiency, and accuracy within your work area
• Follow all BHS safety procedures, PPE standards, and operational protocols

• Experience operating CNC or manual grinding equipment (FANUC or Siemens preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, tolerances, and machine specifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours
• Proficiency with basic math and precision measuring tools
• Physical ability to:
  • Stand, walk, bend, twist, and climb for extended periods
  • Safely lift and maneuver 30+ lbs
  • Navigate equipment, ladders, and stairs
  • Work in varying temperature environments

• 30 hours/week – Compensation aligned to a full 40-hour role
