Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant-OB/GYN (Knoxville)
Join the University of Tennessee Health Science Center as a part‑time provider (20 hours per week) delivering obstetrical and gynecological care to women from childbearing age through the continuum of life under indirect supervision by OB/GYN attending physicians.
Job Summary / Essential FunctionsThe Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant offers obstetrical and gynecological health care to women, practicing under the indirect supervision of the OB/GYN residency program in accordance with the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act.
Responsibilities- Provides obstetrical care to low‑risk and high‑risk patients.
- Completes physical examinations, routine prenatal examinations, teaching, evaluation of disease processes, and referral to specialists as needed.
- Prescribes and/or issues medications and supplements as appropriate by protocol and certification by the Tennessee Board of Nursing with provisions of TCA 63‑7‑115.
- Provides routine well woman and low‑risk gynecological care, evaluation of disease processes, and referral to specialists as needed.
- Records and reviews patient record via electronic system.
- Completes charge sheet entries accurately and timely to facilitate charge reimbursement.
- Abides by billing and coding directives as provided by management.
- Performs other related duties as needed.
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Nursing (Transcript required) or Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school (Transcript required).
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience providing care for obstetrical and gynecological patients (Nurse Practitioner) or Two (2) years of experience providing care for obstetrical and gynecological patients under the supervision of a licensed physician (Physician Assistant).
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION: Certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, valid Prescriptive Authority including a DEA certificate (copy required) or Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (copy required).

- Possess strong active listening skills and reading comprehension abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage schedule and documentation in a timely manner.
This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings.
Market Range: $15
