Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
Regional Neonatal Associates, in conjunction with University Physicians' Association, Inc., is currently looking for a dynamic Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a full‑time role. As part of the Regional Perinatal Center for the East TN region, qualified candidates will provide healthcare to patients in a Level III NICU as well as coverage in our well‑baby nursery and other community Level I nurseries.
The applicant will work in consultation, cooperation, and coordination with the supervising physician(s) to evaluate, diagnose, clinically monitor, and manage patients’ care. - Collaborate with physicians to develop appropriate treatment plans for patients.
- Assess health conditions and collect patient data through interviews, observation, and elimination.
- Document findings and actions appropriately in the patient’s medical record.
- Schedule testing, procedures, and other medically necessary measures as identified.
- Demonstrate strong and effective communication skills.
- Maintain continuity of patient care through monitoring progress and modifying the plan of care as necessary.
- Review labs, diagnostics, and other testing/notes as necessary.
- Transport critically ill neonates.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect patients’ PHI.
- Function according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Nurse Practitioners in the State of Tennessee.
- State‑designated Regional Perinatal Center for East Tennessee
- Level IV obstetrics unit with just under 5 000 deliveries per year
- Level III NICU with 65 beds and an average daily census of 45, all private rooms
- UTMC is located in Knoxville, TN, and is a 710‑bed facility – the region’s only academic medical center, Level I trauma center and Magnet‑recognized hospital

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Licensure and certification in good standing with the State Board
