As a Triage Nurse (RN), you will provide appropriate medical advice over the phone to our patients according to treatment plans ordered by our oncology and hematology providers, escalating treatment as necessary.

Being an infusion nurse is a unique role that is both challenging and rewarding. Many of our patients are very sick and rely on our nurses to take good care of them. Because of the long hours these patients spend toward treatment of their illness, our infusion and triage nurses become like family. We understand that a lot of work goes into learning and keeping up with the different types of treatments, and we recognize that your attention to detail and compassionate care are vital to the health of our patients.

Maintaining a patient‑focused mindset is always the goal, and you do this well!

• You have experience with oncology and hematology treatments and workflows, allowing you to provide over‑the‑phone medical advice and properly recognize when treatment for a patient should be escalated to a provider.
• In conversation with our patients, you will provide excellent customer service by rolling out the red carpet to meet their needs and make them feel as comfortable as possible during a challenging time.
• Your in‑depth knowledge of the many types of treatments and regimens, and willingness to stay current, allows you to serve as a resource for our patients and other clinical team members.
• Experience with navigating EMR systems and familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA, and other safety guidelines will allow you to adapt quickly to the workflow.
• Communicating respectfully and in a timely manner will keep all necessary team members on the same page to maintain quality care.
• Your go‑getter work ethic will have you ready to jump in and help out with any additional tasks.

• This position will require sitting for extended periods of time.
• Any lifting should be limited to 40 pounds or less.
• You will need manual dexterity, proper hand‑eye coordination, full range of motion to possibly assist with lifting patients, and corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

• A professional nursing degree is required, with a BSN preferred. Tennessee State Nursing licensure is also required.
• Current BLS certification will be required upon hire.
• You must live in the Knoxville area or be in the process of relocating. This role is fully onsite and does not offer remote or hybrid work options.
• At least one year of prior oncology nursing experience is required.
