Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry / Stroke Unit RN – Tennessee

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Tennessee

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 18:45-07:15, 3x12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend coverage. Patient ratio 1:6. Float required based on need and skill set.

Highlights:

• Specialized stroke and TIA inpatient unit with higher acuity medical-surgical patients
• Strong focus on patient experience and quality care delivery
• Epic EMR system with Omnicell medication dispensing
• 24 hours of orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Diverse case mix including stroke/TIA, seizures, cardiac conditions, respiratory failure, sepsis, dialysis, and post-procedural care
• Experience with specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation

Requirements:

• Active Tennessee RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Previous charge experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios required
• Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Must reside appropriate distance from facility per travel nurse eligibility guidelines

Core Competencies:

• Telemetry and remote monitoring proficiency
• Cerebrovascular accident (CVA/stroke) care
• Blood product administration and central line management
• Cardiac drip management, heparin, and insulin administration
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Wound care including wound vac management
• PCA pumps, feeding tube management, and PICC line care
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
• Continuous bladder irrigation and colostomy/ileostomy care
• Isolation precautions and proper PPE usage

Patient Population:

• Adult and geriatric patient populations
• 30-bed unit with average daily census of 27 patients
