Overview
Youth Care Specialist role at THOMPSON Child & Family Focus. Thompson is a nonprofit organization serving the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky. Our continuum of care includes prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based with the aim of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. Whatwill you do as a Youth Care Specialist?
- Provide supervision, support, guidance, and build a therapeutic relationship with the youth in your care.
- Engage with youth in the program, provide direction, structure and support for their physical and physiological needs; schedule and participate in activities; help maintain a clean and safe physical milieu; complete daily documentation as required by regulatory standards; transport clients as needed for appointments and activities.
- Travel to various residential facilities within the Knoxville area may be required.
- Work the rotating schedule below:
- 1st Shift: 7am–7pm or 2nd Shift: 7pm–7am
- Week 1:
Monday, Thursday, Friday - Week 2:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
- Starting Pay Range: $18 - $21.50/hour based on experience

- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as pertains to the program
- High School diploma required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred - Minimum of one year of experience in a residential youth or related setting in child and family services
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Full-time employees must work 1st shift (7am–7pm) or 2nd shift (7pm–7am)
