Basic / Essential Qualifications
  • Engage with other Product Owners and business stakeholders to discuss and negotiate dependencies.
  • Act as the face of the product to stakeholders, especially senior leadership.
  • Act as the customer representative to the team and explain the value of change to the business.
  • Help elaborate stories to the tech team where needed.
  • Review and accept all work completed in a sprint.
  • Participate in story refinement and sprint‑planning sessions.
  • Initiate new ideas, product features, and enhance existing features.
  • Seek funding opportunities from stakeholders for new initiatives.
  • Create a business case and present it to senior stakeholders.
  • Exploit project funding to deliver new or improved features.
  • Engage users to understand patterns, behaviours, pain points, and potential improvements.
  • Prioritise live issue fixes in collaboration with leads.
  • Explore metrics across the product and collaborate with tech and domain leads to drive improvement.
  • Create domain roadmaps detailing feature delivery and timelines.
  • Drive metrics that bring the delivery of features and issues to life.
Role Overview

To manage product‑management initiatives and set the strategic direction. Provide support to the bank’s senior management team and manage product‑development risk across the organization.

  • Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance, and determine reward outcomes.
  • Demonstrate clear leadership behaviours:

  • Guide team members through structured assignments and identify needed specialisation.
  • Consult on complex issues and support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify and mitigate risk, and develop new policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with other areas and keep business activity and strategy up to speed.
  • Analyse data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information and influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
What You’ll Do
  • Develop strategic direction for product management, including up‑to‑date methodologies and processes.
  • Manage product‑management initiatives, including oversight of colleagues and performance, implementation of departmental goals, and efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders and maintain quality of external third‑party services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for product management.
  • Manage risk, identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain alignment with compliance functions.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the product‑management department: revenue, profitability, and cost control.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand trends, competitive landscape, regulatory changes, and identify market opportunities.
Experience & Requirements

Experience of 15+ years and deep knowledge of payments and the BFSI domain.
