Start September 2026 by making a genuine difference in the life of a pupil within a supportive specialist SEN school set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside.

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support students aged 11-16 with a range of additional and complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), PMLD, communication and sensory needs, and associated neurological conditions.

This is a particularly rewarding opportunity to work closely with a student with an EHCP who displays challenging behaviour. Previous experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation or complex additional needs is highly desirable. You will need to be patient, resilient, consistent and confident in providing calm, structured support.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers, therapists and SEN professionals to support individual EHCP and learning targets, encourage independence and promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support
  • Support students with complex needs and challenging behaviour
  • Promote communication, engagement and emotional regulation
  • Implement strategies linked to EHCP targets
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and therapy teams
  • Create a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment
  • Support with personal care where required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in an SEN, specialist education or challenging behaviour setting essential
  • Experience supporting challenging behaviour highly desirable
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Passionate about supporting young people to succeed
