We specialise in technical documentation such as operation, maintenance and overhaul manuals, as well as technical training content. We work closely with our customers in the automotive, heavy machinery and rail transportation industries.

We pride ourselves on our flexibility—whether working seamlessly within a customer's existing systems or delivering a brand-new solution, we adapt our approach to fit each client's unique requirements.

The Professional Technical Author role and responsibilities:

Ninefeb UK Ltd are looking for a focused, organised and professional Technical Author to strengthen an experienced team on a full-time basis. You will collaborate with mechanical engineering companies and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to create, revise and maintain clear, accurate and user-friendly technical documentation. This role may require some national or international travel to customer sites to gather information and support documentation development.

Candidate qualities

The ideal candidate will have:

* Minimum two years’ experience in a technical authoring/writing role or similar in mechanical engineering

* Proficiency in DITA structured XML authoring and CCMS

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

* Understanding of engineering principles and concepts

* Ability to understand complex technical information and translate it into clear and concise documentation

* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

* Willingness to work in a calm, professional manner with a variety of people

* Ability to liaise with customer engineering and project management teams

Additional beneficial qualities:

* A relevant Bachelor's degree or HND qualification (or equivalent professional experience)

* Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Framemaker and/or other documentation and design tools

* Technical illustration skills (Adobe Illustrator or equivalent)

* Full, clean UK driving license.
