Edmundson Electrical is the UK's largest electrical wholesaler, with a history spanning over 200 years. We trade from more than 400 locations, serve over 100,000 customers nationwide and offer over 120,000 products from leading, trusted manufacturers. We invest heavily in training and development, and that applies to our own people as much as our trainees.
The OpportunityWe're building an in-house talent acquisition and management function to strengthen how we attract, select and develop our future talent. As an Early Careers Talent Advisor, you'll be part of the small team running our Graduate and Placement Year recruitment, from first university contact through to appointment and then supporting trainees on the programme.
This is a great next step if you've started your career in recruitment, HR, university careers or a similar people-focused role and want broader, hands‑on experience across the whole early careers cycle. You'll be involved from day one and have a real say in how the new function takes shape, with support and development along the way.
What you’ll be doingRecruitment and selection
- Managing applications from first contact to offer, making sure every candidate has a professional, engaging experience
- Reviewing and shortlisting applications against agreed criteria, and arranging interviews with colleagues across the business
- Helping plan and run assessment days, including logistics, candidate communications and feedback
- Helping build and maintain a strong pipeline of candidates for future intakes
- Building relationships with university careers teams across the UK and learning their placement year processes and key dates
- Representing Edmundson Electrical at careers fairs, presentations and campus events
- Helping us find new universities and channels to reach early-career talent
- Keeping track of trainees' progress and development while they're on programme
- Working with colleagues in the business to keep programme delivery consistent
- Spotting concerns early and raising them so trainees get the right support
You don't need a long CV for this role. We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- A year or two of experience in recruitment, HR, higher education or graduate careers, or in a customer-facing or coordination role where you've shown you can do the above
- Confidence communicating with people, on the phone and face to face, inside and outside the business
- Strong organisation and attention to detail, and the ability to juggle several tasks at once
- Comfort with data and reporting, or a willingness to build that skill
- A genuine interest in people, talent and helping others develop
- Resilience, enthusiasm and fresh ideas
- The ability to work on your own initiative while collaborating well with others
- A role with real responsibility and room to grow as the function develops
- Training and development support
- Eligibility for the Company Profit Share Scheme
- 25 days' annual holiday plus public holidays
- A contributory pension scheme
