We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join a global digital transformation leader, embedded within a Tier 1 Global Investment Bank. This role offers the chance to secure large-scale cloud environments for a world-renowned financial institution.
The RoleAs an experienced Cloud Engineer with a security-first mindset, you will bridge the gap between Dev Ops and Cyber Security. You will be responsible for enhancing cloud infrastructure, automating escalations, and ensuring all architecture aligns with the latest security and software lifecycle patterns.
Key Responsibilities- Design & Delivery:
Translate High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) into actionable, secure cloud designs. - Security Automation:
Drive enhancements in cloud security tooling, specifically focusing on Wiz (Wiz Cloud / Wiz Defend). - CI/CD & Dev Sec Ops :
Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and apply automation to solve real-world problems for dynamic business units. - Infrastructure as Code:
Automate GCP infrastructure using Terraform or Deployment Manager. - Stakeholder Management:
Support internal business units in adopting modern cloud-native architectures and best-in-class security protocols.
- Cloud Platform Expertise:
Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desirable, though AWS/Azure experts with professional certifications will be considered. - Security Tooling:
Proven experience with Wiz (Cloud/Defend) and familiarity with SIEM tools and security controls. - Containerisation:
Expert knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (GKE). - Automation & Scripting:
Proficiency in Python, Power Shell, or Bash, with experience using automation tools like Chef. - Dev Ops:
Expert understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, etc.). - Networking:
Knowledge of GCP Networking (VPC, Firewalls, Cloud Load Balancing).
- Previous experience working within the Financial Services or highly regulated sectors.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, CISSP, or equivalent Azure/AWS security certs).
- Experience with Red Hat Linux and Windows OS in an operational environment.
This role follows a 60% office-based / 40% remote hybrid model. You must be able to commute to Knutsford at least 3 days per week to collaborate with the engineering and security teams.
