At Barclays, we’re looking for a Salesforce Designer to shape and deliver enterprise-grade solutions across our Sales and Service platforms. As a key member of our technology team, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining architecture, guiding best practice design, and driving digital transformation across the organisation.

Key Skills

  • Salesforce Architecture & Solution Design – Proven experience designing end-to-end Salesforce solutions within complex enterprise environments.
  • Sales and Service Cloud expertise – Strong functional and technical knowledge across both clouds.
  • Platform Development and AutomationHands-on experience with Apex, Lightning components, integrations, and workflow/flow automation.
Desirable skills
  • Integration & API Expertise – Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
  • Dev Ops & Release Management – Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, deployment frameworks, and environment management.
  • Salesforce Certifications – Certifications such as Application Architect, System Architect, or Platform Developer are highly valued.

This role is based out of our Knutsford office.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities
  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
