Position: Release Train Engineer at Barclays

Overview

Release Train Engineer at Barclays in Knutsford, ENG, GB. This full‑time on‑site position offers career growth opportunities. The role is based in Knutsford and is part of the Customer Digital and Data business area.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and coordinate Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to ensure multiple teams are aligned and delivering value efficiently.
  • Manage dependencies, remove impediments, and oversee the planning and execution of Program Increments.
  • Support planning execution, monitor synchronization events, and facilitate cross‑team backlog refinement.
  • Coach teams and Scrum Masters on cross‑team Agile principles, practices, and events.
  • Identify and track cross‑team risks and dependencies, ensuring mitigation and removal of blockers.
  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration (business stakeholders, product teams, vendors) to build trust and achieve alignment.
  • Champion Agile culture and Ways of Working, creating a safe environment for team members.
  • Coordinate interlock and dependency management across teams, ensuring effective readiness and communication.
  • Drive continuous improvement of flow, value delivery, and technology use, addressing bottlenecks and serving as escalation point.
  • Track and report key metrics to leadership and governance forums, supporting continuous delivery improvement.
