Join us at Barclays as a Product Engineer - M365 Unified Collaboration & Gen AI, where you will provide technical leadership within a team responsible for delivering innovative collaboration, productivity, and AI-enabled solutions across the organisation. This role requires a highly experienced engineering leader who can define technology strategy, establish best practices, and drive the successful delivery of complex enterprise-wide initiatives.

You will be part of a team of engineers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. Working closely with senior stakeholders, architects, and business partners, you will translate strategic objectives into scalable technology solutions, ensuring alignment with Barclays' engineering standards, security requirements, and operational objectives. You will be accountable for technical decision-making, roadmap execution, resource prioritisation, and the ongoing development of team capability, while championing modern engineering practices and supporting the adoption of emerging technologies across the Microsoft ecosystem.

To be successful as a Product Engineer - M365, you must have the following essential skills:

  • Copilot, AI Agents & Power Platform Engineering – Architecture and leading a team to design and deliver M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI agents, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and enterprise automation solutions.
  • M365 Platform Expertise
    - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, One Drive, Exchange Online, M365 Groups, and Entra , including integration and authentication.
  • Security, Identity & Enterprise Controls
    - Experience implementing RBAC, DLP, environment management, governance controls, and secure operating models aligned with enterprise security and compliance requirements.
Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include
  • Microsoft Graph, Power Shell & Automation – Experience in architecture and developing automation, integrations, and operational tooling using Microsoft Graph APIs, Power Shell, REST APIs, and scripting languages.
  • Azure & Enterprise Integration
    - Experience designing and supporting integrations using Azure services and connecting Microsoft 365 solutions with enterprise and external platforms.
  • Engineering Tooling & Dev Ops
    - Experience using Git Hub/Git Lab, Visual Studio, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and Dev Ops practices to support scalable and repeatable solution delivery.

Purpose of the role To build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms as required with the aim of ensuring that the infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology through the application of software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response.

Accountabilities
  • Build Engineering:
    Development, delivery, and maintenance of high-quality infrastructure solutions to fulfil business requirements ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use. Including the identification of the appropriate technologies and solutions to meet business, optimisation, and resourcing requirements.
  • Incident Management:
    Monitoring of IT infrastructure and system performance to measure, identify, address, and resolve any potential issues, vulnerabilities, and outages. Use of data to drive down mean time to resolution.
  • Automation:
    Development and implementation of automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention, utilising software scripting/coding disciplines.
