Commercial Sales Engineer

Are you a technically minded senior sales professional who enjoys building relationships, solving engineering challenges and winning new business?

We're working with a highly respected UK engineering manufacturer that supplies critical valve solutions to the global oil, gas and hydrogen industries. With ambitious growth plans and an international customer base, they're looking for a Commercial Sales Engineer to join their team at their Knutsford headquarters.

This is a varied role where you'll combine technical understanding with commercial expertise. You'll work closely with customers to understand their requirements, prepare quotations and tend-to-end proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and help deliver engineering solutions from enquiry through to contract award.

You'll also play a key role in growing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities, and working alongside engineering, production and purchasing teams to ensure customers receive the highest level of service.

• Preparing technical quotations, proposals and tender submissions.
• Managing customer enquiries from initial contact through to order.
• Negotiating pricing and commercial agreements.
• Developing new business while growing existing customer relationships.
• Collaborating with engineering, production and quality teams to deliver customer requirements.
• Keeping CRM records up to date and providing market feedback to support future growth.

• Experience in technical sales within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical products and the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Background in valves, oil & gas, petrochemical, energy or a related industrial sector.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• A proactive, organised approach and a genuine passion for customer relationships.
