Responsibilities

The incumbent will work under the direction of the MWR Business Section Chief and Director. The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of responsible administrative duties that require judgment, experience, and discretion:

  • Screen calls and visitors; personally handle many requests for information and refer others as appropriate.
  • Type correspondence, reports and other materials; read incoming correspondence to determine proper action; review outgoing correspondence and reports for proper format.
  • Maintain various files, regulations, manuals and directives.
  • Maintain supervisor’s calendar and schedule appointments and meetings according to workload and priority.
  • Handle matters and situations of a confidential and sensitive nature; perform daily responsibilities independently.
  • Manage projects and contribute to committees and teamwork.
  • Prepare and distribute all advertisement and notice flyers for MWR, including monthly Activity Notice, MWR web page, social media, text marketing, and electronic message boards.
  • Manage and promote the Military Ticket Program; assist eligible patrons with ticket orders and sales using a credit card machine and cash register.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and standards; use required safety equipment and report any observed hazards, injuries or property damage.
  • Support the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
  • Perform Other Related Duties as Required.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of experienced clerical support work under minimal supervision.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An Associate’s Degree in retail or business administration (or at least two years of specialized experience); general business experience may be substituted for a degree.

  • Residency Requirements:
    Non‑U.S. nationals authorized to work in the U.S. must have resided within the United States or U.S. territories for at least three of the last five years.
