Job Summary
Lindahl Reed is seeking a qualified Environmental QA/QC Manager to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG). The Environmental QA/QC Manager work is related to daily quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) inspections and reporting. The Environmental QA/QC Manager will report daily to the CEU Juneau Environmental Management Branch and the CEU Juneau Construction Branch Chief, on construction contractors’ adherence to environmental specifications included in design and construction contracts for shoreside infrastructure.
This work generally includes inspection of construction contractors’ adherence to contract requirements, USCG approved environmental permits (for example, stormwater, dewatering, contaminated soil and groundwater management, marine mammal observance, etc), solid waste permits and waste inventory tracking, lead and asbestos notifications, and other permits typically included in design and construction projects.
USCG’s infrastructure projects typically include activities related to fuel, water, sewer, and stormwater or related lines repair and replacement, abandonment and demolition of buildings and structures, installation of new utilities and buildings, road pavement and reconstruction, pier and dock expansion, reconfiguration, and reconstruction, vessel moorings buildings, hangars, water and wastewater treatment plants, drinking water system management, steam generation and heating and cooling systems, bulk fuel farms, other fuel support infrastructure, housing complexes, offices, galleys, gyms, health clinics, and communication towers.
PositionResponsibilities
- Provide inspection and reporting services for government personnel. Services will include onsite inspection of environmental requirements of construction projects, drafting of regular inspection reports to the COR, including adherence to environmental specifications for waste handling, soil stockpile management, reporting of environmental screening and analytical results, and contractor daily reporting; independent technical reviews of environmental construction submittals, specifications, cost estimating, problem and conflict resolution, quality assurance, and waste inventory tracking and disposal activities.
- Conduct comprehensive technical reviews of professional studies, reports and analysis.
- Collaborate with Base Kodiak personnel, managers, environmental specialists, planners, design project managers, construction project managers, government personnel, and contractor personnel, and provide advice and insight on the resolution of unique and complex environmental regulatory issues that arise during construction.
