Recreation Aid
Location:
Kodiak, AK (MWR Teen Center)
Pay: $17.00/hour + DOE
Duties- Engage in recreational activities such as military recreation center activities, youth activities, outdoor recreation, craft and hobby shops, athletics, fitness and sports programs, music, theater, and other similar MWR services.
- Provide oversight of activities and necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information on equipment use.
- Offer information concerning facilities and operations.
- Issue tools, equipment and games to authorized customers and manage identification checks and fee collection when appropriate.
- Inspect and receive items for damage and missing parts, and assist in directing patrons, scheduling courts, lanes and equipment.
- Check inventories and supplies, participate in, and direct games and social events.
- Decorate party rooms and maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas.
- Demonstrate simple techniques during arts and crafts programs.
- Ensure adherence to regulations and safety procedures and monitor security of premises.
- Assist in maintaining routine reports and perform clerical, custodial or general maintenance duties as needed.
- Operate a cash register, receive payments and make change.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum
- Ability to learn USCG MWR policies, rules, and regulations and communicate orally and in writing.
- Basic mathematics knowledge.
- Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.
- Experience in duties similar to those listed.

- Residency Requirements:
Non-U.S. nationals authorized to work in the U.S. must have resided in the U.S. or territories for at least three of the last five years. - Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer as the standard method of payment.
- Selective Service registration requirement for male applicants born after 12/31/59 and at least 18 years old.
