Facility: MWR Kodiak Pool
Responsibilities- Serves as a lifeguard for outdoor pool work under the direction of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Aquatics Program Manager or MWR supervisor.
- Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests.
- Responsible for life guarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility.
- Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.
- Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed.
- Assists in maintaining pool and keeping all areas clean and free from hazards.
- Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures.
- Tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules and do not follow facility Standard Operating Procedures; patrons may be asked to leave the facility for non‑conformance.
- Ensures pool rules and regulations are posted in view for all patrons.
- Maintains accurate daily logs and records as required; cash collected will be properly accounted for and paperwork maintained correctly.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Must possess and maintain Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent), CPR for the Professional, and First Aid.
- Must communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be available from Mid‑May through Labor Day.
