Location: Kodiak, AK (MWR Kodiak Pool)
Opening Date: 01 January 2026
Closing Date: Until Filled
Work Schedule: Intermittent (0–19 hours/week)
Pay: $18.00/hour + DOE
Hiring Incentive: $500 total ($250 after start, $250 after 90 days)
Duties- Manage swimming pool activities and ensure compliance with operating policies, safety rules, and swimming practices.
- Act as water safety instructor and lifeguard, instruct beginners in swimming and give life‑saving instructions as required.
- Supervise and instruct proper use and maintenance of pool equipment, including water testing.
- Check condition of showers, bathrooms, and outside areas; keep all areas neat and sanitary, make notes and report to supervisor.
- Check premises for fire hazards and ensure facility is secured at closing time.
- Ensure staff remains current with certifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must possess and maintain the following certifications:
Lifeguarding, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer, Automated External Defibrillation (AED), First Aid (American Red Cross or equivalent), and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certificate.

- Residency Requirements:
Non‑U.S. nationals must have resided in the U.S. or territories for at least three of the last five years. - Direct deposit required.
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/59 and at least 18 years of age.
