H.E. McGonigal, Inc., part of the Chariot Automotive Group, is looking for automotive mechanics to join our team in Kokomo, IN. The Automotive Technician performs routine maintenance, identifies the cause of breakdowns, and repairs them using effective solutions. As a General Line Automotive Technician, you will be experienced with the latest automotive technologies and be a persistent problem solver.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification
• Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
• Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast of rapidly changing technology
• Inspect and test vehicles and record findings to determine necessary repairs

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician (automotive mechanic)
• ASE certifications preferred
• Valid driver’s license with no major traffic violations within the past seven years
• Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
