Accounting Adjunct Faculty

Overview

This position is for daytime, on‑campus classes. Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part‑time positions hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

• Program operation: perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes; provide syllabus appropriate to the course(s) and follow syllabus content and requirements; maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy and submit requested information within established timelines.
• Students: be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance; address student concerns and, if necessary, consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues.
• Instruction: meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s); use technology such as Ivy Learn, PowerPoint, etc.; notify the program/department chair in event of an emergency absence; conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views, promoting diversity as an integral part of the work.

• Strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction.
• Faculty credentials as outlined in ASOM 7.1 applicable to the specific area of instruction.

• Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution.
• Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in related courses.
