Overview
This position is for daytime, on‑campus classes. Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part‑time positions hired each semester on an as‑needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.
Responsibilities- Program operation: perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes; provide syllabus appropriate to the course(s) and follow syllabus content and requirements; maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy and submit requested information within established timelines.
- Students: be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and provide assistance; address student concerns and, if necessary, consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues.
- Instruction: meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s); use technology such as Ivy Learn, PowerPoint, etc.; notify the program/department chair in event of an emergency absence; conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views, promoting diversity as an integral part of the work.
- Strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction.
- Faculty credentials as outlined in ASOM 7.1 applicable to the specific area of instruction.
- Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution.
- Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in related courses.
