Senior MES DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Dev Ops engineer with expertise in Spring Framework to design, develop, and maintain MES and its sub-systems. This role requires a strong understanding of MES architecture, system integrations, and software development principles, especially using the Spring Framework. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, ensuring seamless integration between MES, equipment, and other enterprise systems.

This role will also be able to identify abnormal behavior and fix issues as they are reported from the PI team. The MES Engineer will need to have strong communication skills and knowledge of battery manufacturing equipment. Additionally, proficiency in both Korean and English is required to communicate with the MES Engineer in Korea and collaborate with on‑site technicians. This role will report to the Head of IT.

• Develop and maintain Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) with knowledge of the Spring Framework and .Net framework ensuring high performance and scalability
• Lead on Application Lifecycle Management of MES involves backlogs, changeset, release, testing and deployment practices
• Lead on emergency response practices in the events of system failure, recovery and rollback
• Troubleshoot MES operational issues performing analysis of application log, DB transaction log, application codes, operating systems log
• Manage integration between MES and other systems (e.g., SCADA, PLCs) while customizing modules based on operational needs
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align MES functionalities with business processes and document configurations
• Maintain system at optimum level by identifying bottleneck and applying resolutions to ensure efficiency and reliability of the operation
• Coordinating offshore exert groups support for emergency response
• Assist management roles for system engineer staffs
• Perform other position related duties as assigned

• Minimum Age: 18 years old
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• 5 years’ experience of programming and development
• While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for data analysis and process optimization in manufacturing practice
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical information and collaborating with cross‑functional teams
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and reliability in MES monitoring and data analysis
• Strong organizational and time management skills for prioritizing tasks in a fast‑paced environment
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues creatively and adaptively under pressure

• Over 7 years of experience in business system development and integration in manufacturing, control systems and process industry
• 5 years or more of programming and application development
• Proficient in the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data) and strong knowledge of Java, J2EE, and object‑oriented programming
• RESTful APIs, Service Oriented Architecture, and messaging systems
• Experienced in Relational databases, procedure, performance focused tuning and having basic knowledge of DB administration
• Familiar with network system components including, switches, firewalls, proxies and protocols. ERP, SCADA, and PLCs
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail, ensuring high‑quality solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross‑functional teams.
• Proficient in both English and Korean languages
