Location:

Kokomo, IN. Report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

• Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with company values and conducts.
• Perform necessary pre‑operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Work 8–10 hour shift and overtime as required.
• Assist teammates with technical issues and troubleshooting.
• Operate and monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
• Perform tool and die changes for all machines.
• Ensure all processes use required safety controls and PPE.
• Cross‑train in different areas of the shop as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality, with minimal waste.
• Accurately set up and log changeovers to communicate and prep between shifts.
• Follow operating procedures and PPE requirements.
• Participate in problem‑solving with run‑rate achievements.
• Engage in standard work training, 5S, lean sustainment, and problem‑solving.
• Support and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track and analyze data and implement improvements for plant operations.
• Participate in Lean Daily Manufacturing and 5S activities and promote the plant Lean culture.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with machine setup and operation.
• Experience in steel manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of production procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Forklift certification strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to handle heavy equipment.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent detail accuracy and organization.

• Complete required training.
• Be experienced with machine setup and operations.
• Be well‑versed in Atkore’s Business System.
