Overview
JD Finish Line is seeking dynamic managers to lead our team and drive excellence in every customer interaction at the JD Store Management – Markland Mall, Kokomo, IN location. The role includes managing daily operations, inspiring a high-performance team, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Position Title(s): Assistant Store Manager and Supervisor
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Team Management:
Recruit, train, and develop a motivated team. Foster a positive work environment, set clear goals, and provide ongoing feedback to ensure top performance. - Customer
Experience:
Create an exceptional shopping experience by addressing customer needs, resolving issues, and ensuring high standards of customer service. - Sales & Performance:
Drive store sales and profitability through effective merchandise management, promotional strategies, and achieving sales targets. - Operational Excellence:
Oversee daily operations including inventory management, visual merchandising, and store maintenance. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations. - Financial Management:
Manage store budgets, control expenses, and analyze sales data to optimize performance and drive revenue growth. - Marketing & Community Engagement:
Implement local marketing initiatives and build strong relationships with the community to enhance brand presence and attract new customers. - Innovation & Problem-Solving:
Stay current with industry trends and competitor activities. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance store operations. - Additional duties and projects as required.
- Experience:
Proven experience as a Retail Store Manager or similar role, with a track record of achieving sales targets and managing a team. - Leadership
Skills:
Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Customer-Centric: A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and creating memorable shopping experiences.
- Analytical
Skills:
Ability to analyze sales data, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions. - Flexibility:
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. - Tech-Savvy:
Proficiency in retail management software and basic computer applications.
- Assistant Store Manager
- Open availability, including hours necessary to open and close the store (mornings, days, and nights).
- Minimum standard work week of 5 days.
- Average standard work week of 44 hours, with increases during peak sales periods.
- Supervisor
- Availability during the hours necessary to open and close the store (mornings, days, and nights).
- Minimum of 5 days of availability.
- Minimum standard of a 30 hour work week.
- All Management
- Availability on weekends and holidays.
- Punctuality and regular attendance as per company policies.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must speak English clearly to converse with customers and effectively supervise staff.
- Must be able to read and write English and perform business-related mathematics to carry out normal business and understand corporate sales reports.
- May require the ability to move to different locations within the company's network based on operational needs and career growth.
- Requires prolonged standing approximately five to 14 hours per day.
- During peak sale periods, may work long hours.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, reaching, and pulling to stock merchandise.
- May be required to climb ladders or ascend/descend stairs to stock and acquire merchandise.
- Requires lifting 5–25 lbs regularly; weights may be higher in certain circumstances.
- Good vision with color differentiation.
- Moderately noisy retail environment.
- High School Diploma or GED; 2+ years’ experience in retail leadership strongly preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
