Role Description

The Accounting Associate will support the accounts team in managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial reporting activities. The role involves maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial statements, supporting accounts closing, and ensuring compliance with IFRS, VAT regulations, and other statutory requirements. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and a high level of commitment to quality and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the accounts team with bookkeeping and accounting operations.
- Perform accurate data entry for sales, purchases, petty cash, receipts, and payments.
- Prepare monthly financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement in compliance with IFRS.
- Support month-end and year-end accounts closing activities.
- Assist with VAT compliance, including VAT data preparation, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure accounting records comply with financial regulations and internal control requirements.
- Maintain proper accounting documentation and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate with senior accountants and managers to meet reporting deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of financial statements, journal entries, and accounting principles.

Good analytical and financial analysis skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Tally.

Working knowledge of VAT regulations and accounting compliance requirements.

High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficient in spoken and written English.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Professional qualification such as ACCA / ACCA (Part Qualified) / CA Inter / CMA / CPA.
