BÖWE is an award-winning architecture and design firm seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong expertise in quantity surveying, cost estimation, cost control, tendering, procurement support, contract administration, and commercial management.
The ideal candidate will manage project costs across pre-contract and post-contract stages, including quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, tender evaluation, variation assessment, interim payment reviews, cost reporting, and contract documentation support.
Quantity Surveying & Commercial Skills- Strong experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, BOQ preparation, tendering, and contract administration.
- Proven ability to manage project costs across pre-contract and post-contract stages.
- Advanced experience in preparing quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, BIM models, and tender documents.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, finishes, fit-out works, MEP coordination, and architectural packages.
- Ability to prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, cost plans, and commercial reports.
- Experience in reviewing contractor quotations, tender submissions, payment applications, claims, and variations.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, tender comparison sheets, and commercial evaluation.
- Ability to review drawings, specifications, scope documents, and technical details to identify cost implications.
- Strong knowledge of contract terms, project documentation, change management, and commercial risk control.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements and company standards.
- Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost estimates, and tender documents based on project drawings and specifications.
- Support pre-contract activities, including cost planning, budget preparation, tender analysis, and commercial evaluation.
- Review and evaluate contractor and supplier quotations to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and scope compliance.
- Assist in procurement coordination by preparing comparison sheets, commercial summaries, and recommendation reports.
- Monitor project budgets, cost performance, and commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review interim payment applications, progress claims, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Assess, negotiate, and validate variations, change orders, claims, and additional work requests.
- Coordinate with design, project management, procurement, finance, contractors, consultants, and clients regarding cost and contract matters.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, payment summaries, variation logs, budget updates, and commercial dashboards.
- Support contract administration, including reviewing contract documents, scope gaps, commercial terms, and project requirements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide practical commercial recommendations to management.
- Participate in project meetings, tender meetings, negotiation sessions, and commercial coordination discussions.
- Maintain accurate commercial records, project cost files, tender documents, and contract-related correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, contract requirements, project budgets, and approved commercial processes.
- Represent BÖWE professionally in meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- 6 to 10 years of proven quantity surveying and cost management experience.
- Experience in architecture, interior design, fit-out, residential, hospitality, commercial, and mixed use development projects is preferred.
- Strong experience in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, tendering, procurement support, variation assessment, and payment review.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, finishing works, materials, specifications, and project documentation.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, commercial control, claims, variations, and project cost reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and interior design drawings.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
- Strong ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project deadlines.
- Valid Kuwait Society of Engineers membership is an advantage.
- Valid transferable Kuwait residency is preferred.
- Candidates currently based in Kuwait are preferred.
- Immediate joining or short notice availability is preferred.
