Senior Interior Architect

BPM Architects is seeking an experienced Senior Interior Design Architect to join our team in Kuwait.

We are looking for a creative and technically strong professional with at least eight years of experience in interior architecture and commercial design. The ideal candidate will have proven experience designing public spaces, retail common areas, food courts, and other high-traffic customer environments.

The role requires strong concept development, material selection, way finding, customer-experience planning, technical coordination, and project-delivery skills.

• Lead the interior design of public spaces, retail common areas, food courts, circulation areas, and customer-facing environments
• Develop design concepts based on the project brief, brand identity, operational needs, and customer journey
• Create material, finish, furniture, lighting, signage, and way finding concepts
• Develop customer-experience strategies that improve circulation, visibility, comfort, accessibility, and spatial engagement
• Prepare high-quality design presentations, mood boards, material boards, diagrams, and client-facing documentation
• Develop projects from concept and schematic design through detailed design and construction documentation
• Prepare and review plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, flooring layouts, joinery details, and finish schedules
• Coordinate interior design requirements with architectural, structural, MEP, lighting, signage, and specialist disciplines
• Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, operators, and project stakeholders
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, samples, mock-ups, and contractor proposals
• Ensure materials and finishes are durable, practical, maintainable, and suitable for high-traffic commercial environments
• Participate in client presentations, design reviews, workshops, and technical coordination meetings
• Conduct site inspections and monitor the quality and progress of interior works
• Resolve design, technical, and site-related issues during project execution
• Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in interior architecture or interior design
• Proven experience in shopping malls, retail common areas, food courts, hospitality spaces, or large public interiors
• Strong portfolio demonstrating commercial interior design, concept development, material selection, and detailed design
• Strong understanding of customer journeys, circulation planning, way finding, accessibility, and public-space design
• Excellent knowledge of interior materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, signage, and joinery
• Strong understanding of construction methods, technical detailing, and multidisciplinary coordination
• Experience preparing detailed design packages and reviewing shop drawings and material submissions
• Strong presentation, communication, leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, and relevant visualization software
• Experience in Kuwait or the GCC is preferred
