Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to support students in developing essential motor, sensory, and functional skills to enhance their academic success and daily life activities. The ideal candidate will provide direct and indirect therapy services, collaborate with educators and parents, and ensure students receive the necessary interventions to promote independence, mobility, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Assess students’ speech, language, communication, and social interaction skills
- Identify difficulties such as speech sound disorders, language delays, stammering, or pragmatic (social) communication needs
- Contribute to formal diagnoses (e.g., developmental language disorder, autism‑related communication needs)
- Plan and deliver individual or group therapy sessions
- Develop tailored intervention programmes based on each pupil’s needs
- Use evidence‑based strategies to improve speech clarity, vocabulary, comprehension, and communication skills
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and teaching assistants
- Train and advise school staff on strategies to support communication in the classroom
- Liaise with parents/carers to support progress at home
- Licensed Speech and Language Therapist with experience in pediatric or school‑based therapy.
- Passionate about helping students overcome challenges to thrive in their learning environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, parents, and specialists.
- Ability to adapt therapy interventions based on individual student needs.
This role is integral to enhancing students’ functional independence and ensuring they have the tools to succeed academically and socially.
