Assistant Librarian

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Librarian to join our team at our library in Al-Kuwait, Kuwait. As an Assistant Librarian, you will assist the Head Librarian in managing the day-to-day operations of the library, including cataloging and processing new materials, maintaining the library's collection, and providing customer service to library patrons.

• Assist in cataloging and processing new materials according to established standards
• Maintain the library's collection by shelving books and ensuring materials are properly organized
• Provide customer service to library patrons by answering inquiries, assisting with research needs, and checking out materials
• Assist with coordinating events and programs at the library, such as book clubs or workshops
• Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement new initiatives and services
• Assist with maintaining the library's online presence through social media and website updates
• Help with creating displays and promoting new materials within the library

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field preferred
• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with a diverse community of patrons
• Knowledge of cataloging standards, classification systems, and library technology preferred
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Starting salary for this position is $1200 per month.

This position is located in Al-Kuwait, Kuwait.
