Senior Site Geotechnical Engineer

We are currenlly looking for a Senior Site Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Kuwait. The correct individual must be degree qualfied BEng/MSc or MEng chartered engineer (MICE e.t.c) wtih 6 + years experience.

or over fifteen years Buro Happold has been engaged in the design and construction supervision of the expansion and transformation of the coastline in Khiran, Southern Kuwait, including developing the surrounding landscape and it's infrastructure. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be a key member of the Consultant Project Management Team based on-site and will report to the Project Manager.

The position undertakes two primary roles:

• Earthworks technical supervision quality of the works in conformance with the contract.
• Ground Improvement and verification of completed land formations.

• Preparation and review of factual surveys and reports on existing ground conditions, including technical supervision of exploratory borehole, test pits, cpt, spt, grading analysis and other required ground investigation operations and tests.
• Technical supervision and quality control of all earthworks associated with the main earthworks and marine works for excavating channels and raising ground formations including ground improvement and visual assessment of soils during excavation for acceptability in fill or disposal.
• Technical supervision and quality control of on-site soils testing laboratory.
• Preparation of ground improvement drawings, supervising the ground investigations (CPT and sonic sampling) producing logs to BS5930, processing CPT data (CPT Pro software) and scheduling laboratory tests.
• Preparation and review of factual surveys, reports on completed earthwork land filling and reclamation works, and interpretation of results of borehole, cpt and proof load tests along with grading analysis and any other required ground investigation operations and tests to validate reclamation.
• Review of Contractor's technical submissions for shop drawings, works method statements and program to ensure compliance with the project specifications.
