Director of Sales Proposals – Integrated Solutions
Baker Hughes is a leading energy technology company delivering across the energy value chain in over 120 countries. As Director of Sales Proposals, you will prepare proposals and bids, negotiate contracts, and manage commercial risk for the Integrated Solutions business line.
Responsibilities- Lead all elements of Integrated Solutions opportunities through the process, ensuring stage and decision‑gate deliverables are met.
- Drive opportunity pursuit, engaging stakeholders such as region leadership, commercial operations, I&S leadership, product line teams, technical focal points, and Baker Hughes support functions to build a winning proposal strategy.
- Enforce company processes and procedures, including OFSE sales and commercial principles, and apply I&S management system content and tools to every opportunity.
- Contribute to the development and adherence of I&S processes, ensuring project risks are documented, evaluated, and mitigated using the I&S risk management process and tools.
- Draft the initial project plan and related documents (risk management plan, communications plan, sourcing plan, vendor management plan, schedule, quality plan, stakeholder matrix, RACI, organizational structure, and I&S cost model).
- Ensure commercial models accurately reflect the most likely return on investment and profitability for Baker Hughes by collaborating with internal stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations with customers, contracted parties, vendors, and other relevant parties.
- Perform contract handover using the Service Level Agreement component of the Baker Hughes OFSE Commercial and Operational Framework Agreement during project mobilization to the project manager and I&S support teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, commercial, or scientific discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant oil & gas operator or service company experience.
- Experience leading integrated commercial bids.
- 5+ years of experience in integrated projects.
- Strong understanding of upstream business environment, including technical and logistical elements.
- Good knowledge of well engineering, well construction, rigs, equipment packages, and technical solutions.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, influencing, analytical, decision‑making, and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a global matrix organization.
- Significant knowledge of business plans, project planning, project management methodology, and proposal/bid creation.
- Global experience delivering proposals in varying and complex commercial and contractual models.
- Strong operational background running integrated projects (project management, engineering roles).
- Experience managing and leading employees.
- Established track record of winning high‑value integrated work as a commercial manager, driving commercial strategy, bid excellence, and successful contract awards in the region.
- Proven track record in the MENAT region (e.g., Oman, Kuwait, India, UAE, KSA).
