We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of major utility, water, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide technical oversight of mechanical construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and quality assurance activities, ensuring project objectives, technical specifications, and industry standards are consistently achieved. The role involves technical supervision of mechanical installation and construction activities involving pumping systems, pipelines, process equipment, mechanical plant, and associated infrastructure;
review of mechanical designs, technical submissions, fabrication drawings, construction methodologies, and contractor documentation; monitoring installation, testing, commissioning, and system performance verification activities; support inspection and acceptance testing processes; oversee quality assurance and control; coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams; maintain inspection records, technical reports, commissioning documentation, and defect management registers; review project completion documentation; and provide technical expertise for troubleshooting, risk mitigation, reliability improvement, and operational optimisation initiatives.
- Provide technical oversight of mechanical construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and quality assurance activities.
- Supervise mechanical installation and construction involving pumping systems, pipelines, process equipment, mechanical plant, and associated infrastructure.
- Review mechanical designs, technical submissions, fabrication drawings, construction methodologies, and contractor documentation.
- Monitor installation, testing, commissioning, and system performance verification activities.
- Support inspection and acceptance testing of mechanical systems, equipment, and associated assets during manufacturing and site execution phases.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams for integrated system commissioning and project delivery.
- Maintain inspection records, technical reports, commissioning documentation, and defect management registers.
- Review project completion documentation, including as‑built drawings and operation & maintenance manuals.
- Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting, risk mitigation, reliability improvement, and operational optimisation initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, construction supervision, or delivery of major utility, industrial, water, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience with pumping systems, pipelines, valves, surge protection systems, mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, and associated plant infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, mechanical testing, commissioning, system performance verification, and reliability assessment practices.
- Proven experience reviewing technical drawings, engineering documentation, inspections, equipment submittals, and contractor deliverables.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces during construction and commissioning phases of complex projects.
- Strong communication and technical reporting skills with excellent English language proficiency.
- Professional registration and experience with large pumping facilities, surge or water-hammer analysis, major water infrastructure projects, commissioning of complex mechanical systems, or Arabic language capability would be advantageous.
