Temporary, part-time summer only
Reports to: Director of Special Services
Salary: EPER salary
Minimum Qualifications- License as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Delaware
- Good interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Work on scheduling services to ensure all students' IEP requirements are met
- Provide therapy services to 3-4 year olds attending our preschool programs as well as district students K-12
- Provide itinerant services for preschool students in day care or home if eligible
- Co‑treat with physical therapist and SLP as warranted
- Experience/knowledge with feeding and oral‑motor programs
- Experience with a variety of assistive technology and positioning equipment (e.g., sitting/standing equipment, adapted wheelchairs, special feeding equipment, etc.)
- Experience/knowledge with sensory motor integration strategies
- Knowledge or experience with data collection related to occupational therapy goals
- A minimum of 1 year experience working with students exhibiting disabilities
- Observe a student engaging in an activity and provide strategies to facilitate the student's full participation
- Reduce barriers that limit student participation within the school environment
- Collaborate with district OT team and school teams to meet the needs of all students in the district
- Utilize assistive technology to support student success
- Complete OT evaluations within appropriate time parameters
- Help identify long‑term goals for post‑school outcomes and update quarterly progress in the IEP
- Develop specific benchmarks (short‑term goals) related to annual goals to be part of the IEP
- Help plan relevant instructional activities for ongoing implementation in the classroom
