System Administrator II

Responsibilities

• Manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running one or more operating systems.
• Assist with routine technical support in the management of network software, hardware configurations, and architectures.
• Help troubleshoot system hardware and software issues.
• Ensure performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users.
• Maintain the organization’s computer systems workflows, configuration, and reliable operation, including fixing network issues, updating equipment, and updating software.
• Assist with basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
• Assist with monitoring and tuning of systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Assist end users on the proper use of hardware and software.

• 3+ years of related experience, intermediate level in analyzing and troubleshooting military networks.
• Experience in design, maintenance, and operation of small to medium networks, including administration of corporate or business user accounts, mail servers, printer servers, and WWW servers.
• Experience in systems management, monitoring and sustainment; hardware repair for servers, PCs, and peripheral equipment; software installation, maintenance, and sustainment.
• Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting military networks, including Microsoft Enterprise Server 2008/2012 or later, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013 or later, Microsoft Active Directory 2008/2012 or later, network server backup, DHCP, DNS, WINS, and domain controllers.

• Must meet DoD 8570.01-M certification requirement or equivalent (e.g., Security+, MCSA Server, CCNA).
• AA/AS, Azure Administrator, Security Certificate required.
• US Citizenship Required – Secret clearance.
• Must meet certification requirements as stated in SPIN‑C or individual task order.
